Dreams Really do Come True

It's time!  Time for my lifelong dream to come true.  In less than 24 hours my sweet little sis and I will be on a plane bound for Africa!!!!  I don't even know what to think or feel right now.  I'm ecstatic, nervous, confused, anxious, and about a million emotions all rolled into one.  I just want to thank EVERYONE who helped in making this trip happen for us!  I am a hundred percent positive that this wouldn't be happening without the help of our loved ones.  We raised over 2 thousand in donations from friends and family, a thousand from my work, and over a thousand with the firework stand, where SO many people pitched in and helped there as well.  I am the luckiest girl alive to have so many incredibly supportive people in my life!
Two of the happiest girls with all our sweet donations from friends and family.
Thank you Vivint!

Sayonara, Happy Valley

Three years.  Three years spent in a place that I could never call home.  Don't get me wrong, Provo is a lovely place with lovely scenery and lovely people, but never really the place for me.  Two weeks ago, I worked my last shift at the place I called work for 3 years.  About a week ago, I finished my last final that I will ever take at UVU.  And next week I'll pay the last rent check for my Provo apartment.  I feel liberated!!! This is the first big change in my life that I'm not kicking myself in the butt for.  Provo and I seem to have a love/hate relationship.  At times, it was a hard place to be and I constantly felt like I had to act and behave a certain way, the pressure to be married was weighing on me and constantly the topic of conversation, I was engaged, unengaged, and single all in a years time, and I never managed to find a good group of gal friends to goof off with (besides my sweet roomies of course).  Despite the negative experiences and lonely moments, I will always LOVE Provo for the positive experiences and happy days I had there.  These moments are what kept me going when things got rough, and helped me develop an attachment to the land of Zoobs.

Bridelveil falls- this place is absolutely, breathtakingly beautiful and I plan on taking many trips to see it every year.

Good old Sev Peaks- I freaking love this place and spent many many hours in these waters.

Flowrider at Provo Beach Resort- I finally learned to stand up on one of these dang things!

I'll miss seeing the cute little Zoobs everyday.  Even though this is my boyfriend, he does a great representation of my favorite type of people.

Working for Vivint.  I love the people I worked with, and this company can throw some killer parties :)

Living with my sweet sister Ang- We had a blast together and only got in one fight the whole time we lived together!

Music is My...

I was recently listening a song by CSS that talks about what music means to her.  Music is her boyfriend, it's her girlfriend, her brother, sister, hometown, beach house, queen size bed, hot bath, etc.  I couldn't help but laugh at what a stupid song it was, but it did get me thinking about what music means to me.  Music is my absolute passion, and has been since I was just a little girl.  If you know me, you know that I'm not just an ordinary music listener, I go crazy for it!  I'll stop any conversation if a good song comes on,  a guy that listens to good music is 10 times more attractive to me, and I'm constantly trying to discover new bands and get new music.  I consider myself a very eclectic music listener and love just about any type of music excluding techno and screamo- barf!  My latest fav has to be indie but I'm always open to a bit of everything.  I often update my blog with songs I have been, or am currently in love with! I decided to follow in CSS's footsteps and I came up with a list of why music is must important to me along with a few of my favorite bands.  Here goes:
                                        - music puts me to sleep when I'm wide awake

                                        - it helps me stay awake when I need to be

                                        - calms me when I'm angry or upset

The Beatles
                                        - opens my tear chambers when I've gone too long without a good cry

                                        - allows me to cope with a sucky break up

                                        - helps me to love with my whole heart

Kate Nash
                                      - brings back childhood memories

                                      - helps me feel cool cruisin in my car with the windows rolled down.

                                      - relieves boredom

Band of Horses
                                      - makes road trips a friggen blast

                                      - allows me to dance my little heart out

Noah and the Whale
                                      - helps me to feel all warm and fuzzy in church

                                      - reminds me of people from my past

Neautral Milk Hotel
                                    - motivates me to run faster

                                    - completes movies (makes the funny ones funnier, scary ones scarier)

                                    - allows me to forget that I have a care in the world

Mason Jennings
                                    - brings me and my siblings closer

                                    - provides entertainment when I'm in the bathroom for more than 2 minutes

                                    - is so stinkin fun at the pool or on a boating trip

I could go on and on all day about why I love music so much but, my main point is, music can make just about anything and everything better!

My name is Rachel Pitts and I am a musicaholic.  Good to get that off my chest.
