Before you die...

Do you ever have those days when you roll out of bed just expecting a simple ordinary day, but something extraordinary happens that far exceeds your expectations? I love when that happens! I experienced that today, and I'm gonna try to not sound like a giddy schoolgirl, because that is exactly how I feel. Woke up, showered, hurried to class, running late as usual, got to class to find a lovely note stating that class is cancelled until the 24th (wahoo), wondered what to do until my next class and remembered that I had seen somewhere that the dudes from the Buried Life (my favorite tv show) were coming to my school. I wasn't sure when so I went to the info board and coincidentally, today was the day!  I texted my sisters who are huge fans of the show as well and headed to save seats. I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I honestly acted like a pre-teen at a Bieber concert as the fellas walked in.  I screamed my lungs out, jumped up and down, all while taking pictures (which ended up as nothing but a blur).   I'll give a bit of a background as to why I was going so insane. The Buried Life is a reality tv show on MTV that is simply inspirational to me.   It's 4 young, very attractive, Canadian fellas who decided to make a list of things they want to do before they die. Just random things such as; longboard in San Fran, play Basketball with the President, get in a fight, get married, Streak on the field at a professional soccer game, make a toast at a strangers wedding, etc. For everything they cross off their lists, they find someone else and help them to cross something off their own list. They've helped a Father and his son reunite after many years of no communication, a son provide a home for his homeless Father, a girl build a skate park for her town in memory of her best friend who passed away, etc.   Needless to say, it's very touching and motivating.   Listening to them today, inspired me! They talked of how they basically started off just like anyone else but the difference was, they had dreams, they knew they were attainable, and nothing would stop them from reaching them.  Jonnie (one of my favs) said, "never get discouraged at the answer no, it doesn't mean no, it just means not yet." They also read a quote that I loved, "You will never be as young as you are today." Isn't that the truth?  Now is the time to live your life! Not tomorrow, not the next day, not someday, not when your older, wiser, richer, braver... NOW. Carpe diem, Seize the day, make your lives extraordinary! What do you want to do before you die?  I suggest you get started.
